The flow
Authors create a digital companion for their physical books — exclusive content, a verified author claim, a durable record.
Create your BookendReaders engage with authors and other readers — communities form around the books they love.
Each book's history and community interactions are kept on a durable record — a living archive.

Use cases
Q&As, behind-the-scenes content, a loyal community that feels truly tied to the work.
A dedicated space for discussions, annotations, and shared reading journeys.
Students and educators collaborate, share notes, build a lasting archive of knowledge.
From sci-fi to poetry — a dedicated home with verifiable digital collectibles.
Standards
Every Bookend is anchored by an IPFN — an International Pinned File Number that identifies your book by what it is, not where it's stored. Bookend is the registration authority that issues it, which is what makes the record durable and portable.
At publication the work's metadata is hashed and pinned to IPFS, a public content-addressed network. Anyone can verify the record against the hash, and the hash existed on the date of publication. The hash is the receipt — independent of any single company or server.

Physical companion
Bookend isn't only digital. Authors can drive a physical print run from the same record — paperback or hardcover — and every printed copy carries the same IPFN as the digital bookend. Readers scan the cover and land in the same community.
Pre-orders, fulfillment, and the post-publication community layer all live in one record. One book, one community, one fingerprint — across paper and pixel.
Where to next
The corridor ends where your book begins — browse the shelf, back a run, or open a blank record and start writing your room.
