“Artisan”

— a worker in a skilled trade, especially one that involves making things by hand.

What is ARTSSN?

A working home for artists, photographers, and authors bringing their ideas from the screen into the world.

ARTSSN now brings together a creative workspace, studios, projects, and identity records through IPFN. Bookend connects books with their readers. Our earlier TSSN and Triptych work remains part of that history, not an application requirement for the platform.

We do things a bit differently.

Your work is more than a follower count. Start with what you want to make.

Explore the ARTSSN workspace, build your studio, and connect your projects.

BV publishing applications are a separate conversation about a specific book and its terms.

Three questions to start with:

What does your work mean to you?+
What are you making? Do the pieces have separate stories, or one common narrative?
What would help your creative practice?+
What do you hope to gain, share, or create by being part of this community?
What’s the biggest obstacle you’ve faced in your creative journey?+

Creativity is not always an easy endeavor, and we understand that.

We want to know the greatest barrier you’ve faced while pursuing creativity: either the three images you chose, or your approach to creativity in general.

Was it inspiration? Access to tools? Access to subject matter? Lack of community? Rejection? Tell us about your friction points.

How ARTSSN supports your work:

A connected workspace, with publishing and registration on their own clear terms.

What You Create

Start with your practice and the work you want to develop:

  • Your studio – Introduce your practice and organize the projects you want to share.
  • Your work – Build images, documents, proofs, and slide decks with the creative tools.
  • Your full rights – You own your work before, during, and after publication.
  • Identity records – Connect supported work to IPFN registration and its recorded provenance.
  • Project context – Keep your materials and collaborators connected to the project they belong to.
  • Artist reflection (Light Note) – Add a written or recorded reflection where your project supports Light Notes.

How It Connects

Different tools and communities, connected without confusing their roles:

  • Creative workspace – ARTSSN brings project organization, creative tools, and your studio into one working environment.
  • Book communities – Bookend gives a book its own space for readers, notes, and conversation.
  • Clear publishing terms – A BV publishing project has its own agreement. Revenue shares, production funding, and distribution are not a universal platform promise.
  • The right permissions – Your studio identity, project memberships, and invited BV roles are distinct. Opening a studio does not grant a BV author or Team role.
  • A publishing conversation – If a book belongs with Blinding Visuals Press, use the BV author application to tell us about it.

“You don’t take a photograph. You make it.”

From Our Roots: TSSN Triptychs

Our early TSSN programme explored Triptych Galleries—three curated images presented together. That format is part of our publishing history, not the limit of today’s ARTSSN workspace.

Why Three?

Three images creates space for voice, narrative, cohesion—or contrast. You don’t need to be an expert in fine art theory. If you’ve got three images that hold meaning to you, you already have what it takes to apply.

The word triptych comes from the Greek for “three folds.” It’s a format used for centuries, capturing visual art across three frames.

Light Notes

We believe visual art isn’t just about what’s seen—it’s about what’s felt. A Light Note is a short written or recorded message from the artist that gives context to their work.

Follow the story beyond the page.

Explore book communities on Bookend

Discover the notes and conversations shared with each book’s community.

In a world where images are consumed in seconds, a Light Note slows the moment down. It gives the work a voice. It reminds viewers that behind every frame is a moment in time — hand crafted art from an artist with thoughts and emotions.
