The word photography translates from Latin—

to writing with light.

Publishing is about more than putting pixels on paper:

At Blinding Visuals, we curate books as bridges between creative voices and the communities they want to reach— honoring the journey of every author who entrusts us with their story.

Our Publishing Model Is Simple:

01

Partner

We onboard authors, set terms, and define the scope of the project—aligning on a shared vision from start to finish. Rights, royalties, funding, and responsibilities are set out in the publishing agreement, so both sides know how the partnership works.

02

Prepare

We work with authors to gather written essays and sequence their visual art. Our editorial team curates both digital and physical proofs, refining layout, pacing, and narrative flow—then submitting them for final author approval.

03

Promote

We plan each launch around the book and its readers. Pre-orders and crowdfunding can help bring a project into print; the agreed campaign determines the funding target, timing, and channels. Bookend gives the book a home for its community beyond launch.

04

Print

We print with gallery-grade precision using offset technology on Heidelberg presses, paired with 157gsm coated paper. The result: richly detailed, beautifully bound books that honor the work inside.

05

Publish

Each title is formally published in the U.S. with a registered ISBN and added to our catalog. We also handle any required international registrations — and distribute globally through aligned online and retail channels, placing your book where it can be accessed.

“If There’s A Book You Want To Read, But It Hasn’t Been Written Yet…

…Then You Must Write It”

—Toni Morrison

We Only Require Two Notes From Prospective Authors:

1. Tell Us Your Story

You, as the author, are the heart of your work. Describe the book you want to bring into the world—what your work means to you, and your community. This doesn’t need to be long or polished.

You can include:

  • A working title (if you have one)
  • The general theme, subject, or story you have in mind
  • A few lines about who you are and where you’re based

That’s it. Just enough for us to understand the story behind the lens.

2. Show Us Your Work

We want to get a sense of the world through your lens. There’s no need for a formal portfolio or polished presentation.

You can:

  • Share a public Instagram or website
  • Upload a PDF or a folder of selected images
  • Send anything that reflects your current visual voice

There’s no right format—just give us a window into your creative approach.

One Size, Infinite Stories

One Format,

Built For One Purpose:

To Tell Your Story

Deliberate Dimension:

We offer one book size: 26 × 36 cm (~10.2 × 14.2 in):

Why one format?
Optimizing for one book size lets us stay true to our mission: make great art accessible. By refining one size, we’ve optimized production without cutting corners. That’s what makes it possible to offer pre-order pricing under $60 — keeping the work accessible for communities.

Authors choose horizontal or vertical—whichever layout best serves the work.

Deliberate Design:

At BV, we spent months testing before landing on these exact dimensions.

When open, the book spans over half-a-meter wide. It’s offset-printed, built with coated paper, linen-bound, and meant to pull the reader into the frame—into the very moment the art was meant to convey.

We’ve built the four corners of the canvas—we leave the contents up to your creative vision.

Pre-Order Process

  1. 1

Every BV title launches through a Kickstarter pre-order campaign. This does more than fund the first edition—it brings your audience into the journey from day one.

  2. 2

Everyone who pre-orders becomes a Pre-order Patron, and each Patron’s name will be included in every edition that is published. They don’t just support the book—they become part of its story.

  3. 3

Most books require a minimum of 100 pre-orders to move into production. No experience? No worries. Our team helps build the campaign from the ground up—from structuring your Kickstarter to shaping the video, messaging, and launch strategy.

Publishing begins with community.

As a member of the Blinding Visuals community—we support you throughout the publishing process.
